Movement Research at the Judson Church | June 16, 2025

A free, high visibility low-tech forum for experimentation, emerging ideas, and works-in-progress held in the Fall and Spring seasons. Artists are selected by a rotating committee of peer artists, and join Movement Research Artists-In-Residence and international guests each season in performing at the historic Judson Memorial Church.

Sharing this evening are Kat Sotelo, Trishawna Woods, and a public process sharing with participants of Daria Faïn’s workshop, SEED BOMBS.

Join us Monday, June 16 at Movement Research at the Judson Church and then stay for the MR FRIENDS AFTER PARTY to celebrate the end of MR’s 2024/2025 Season!

Accessibility Notes

The accessible entrance is located at 243 Thompson St. and the elevator at Judson Memorial Church is currently working. Personnel from the Judson Memorial Church will be at the entrance. The elevator connects Level 1 (street access) to Level 3 (Meeting Room where performances take place) and Level B or basement (where restrooms are located).

Artists

Daria Faïn

Daria Faïn is a New York choreographer and director originally from the Mediterranean. Her work fuses her European cultural background with three decades of practice in Asian philosophies of the body, American dance training and theater.

Kat Sotelo

Kat Sotelo is a 1st generation Filipino American performance artist who received her BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture with a Concentration in Video/Film from the Maryland Institute College of Art (2009).

Trishawna Woods

Trishawna is a dancer, event organizer, and emerging choreographer from southwest Detroit. From an early age, she felt a divine connection to music and her body, which sparked a purpose in her as a movement artist.
