A free, high visibility low-tech forum for experimentation, emerging ideas, and works-in-progress held in the Fall and Spring seasons. Artists are selected by a rotating committee of peer artists, and join Movement Research Artists-In-Residence and international guests each season in performing at the historic Judson Church.

The accessible entrance is located at 243 Thompson St. and the elevator at Judson Church is currently working. Personnel from the Judson Church will be at the entrance. The elevator connects Level 1 (street access) to Level 3 (Meeting Room where performances take place) and Level B or basement (where restrooms are located).

Aleeza Garcia

Aleeza Garcia (they/she) is a Chicana and Tejana artist from Fort Worth, Texas, now based in New York City. Holding a BFA from the University of The Arts, their work explores the intersection of Mexican and American identities through cultural liberation practices rooted in movement, storytelling, and healing.

James Barrett

James Barrett

James Barrett is a queer, Brooklyn-based performer, director, and educator. His dancing is most influenced by his time with director Faye Driscoll and with New Dialect (Nashville, TN), where he performed works by Rosie Herrera, Yin Yue, Banning Bouldin, Idan Sharabi, and Joy Davis. James has choreographed works for Visceral Dance Chicago and New Dialect and has shared his solo work at Centennial Performing Arts Studios (TN), the Barn at Lee (MA), Green Space (NY), and Pageant (NY).
