Attend Monthly Meetings: Artists of Color Council meets virtually on the second Saturday of the month from 12:30-2:30PM (ET), RSVP’s are welcomed and encouraged but not required.

Council Membership Structure
Core Council
Any self-identified artist of color who has attended a minimum of six AoCC meetings out of twelve and was elected in by the current council. Once a Core member, they must attend at least eight meetings per year. Core members guide discussions, lead AoCC
committees, commit to planning events and projects, and are involved in the internal MR components of AoCC.
Core members commit to one year in the position, rotating off at least once every 3 years, for at least one year. In the case that Core membership drops below 5, core members are welcome to remain in the role given eligibility requirements are met.
Core Members are compensated based on the number of AoCC meetings attended in the fiscal year.
Council Members
Any self-identified artist of color who has attended at least four AoCC meetings but has not reached the threshold number of AoCC meetings for Core and/or not opted in to join the AoCC Core Council. Council members can take part in meeting discussions, participate in committees, and vote as a part a democratic decision making process.
Extended Artists of Color Community
Any self-identified artist of color in our larger community regardless of their engagement with the AoCC .
Programs
At Capacity
A showcase for emerging artists of color to have their choreography publicly shown and documented in a low stakes environment. The goal of At Capacity is to give artists a low to no cost opportunity in support of showing a record of professional practice and performance in applications, grants, residencies, fellowships, etc.
The next At Capacity will be November 2nd, 2024 at Brooklyn Arts Exchange.
Applications for At Capacity in the Spring will open in January, 2025.
Pilot: Workshop Series
The series is an opportunity for the artists of color community to share initial or early stage workshops based on their artistic practice and research. Leading artists will have access to Movement Research (MR) studio space and the Artists of Color Council (AoCC) for marketing and logistical support. Artists will have a post-workshop discussion with the Artists of Color Council which may include participant feedback.

Writing Rehearsal
An opportunity to deconstruct and demystify how to write quality applications and present your best artistic self in words. The AoCC invites the community to bring applications, proposals, press releases, or statements they are working on and receive thoughts and feedback from other working professionals in the field. AoCC will have professionals that have served on curatorial and selection committees present to lead the discussion and provide the most value possible to those in attendance.

Artists of Color Council Curation
Each season the Movement Research Artists of Color Council curates artists to participate in Movement Research at the Judson Church, Monday Night performances. The next AoCC MR@Judson Curation will take place on December 2, 2024.
