How do we make more without succumbing to the glut of neoliberal capital and the ‘performance principle’ that keeps us in frantic modes of acquisition? What is it to elaborate an idea, rhizomatically, towards a destiny that could deliver the passion, intellect, clarity, and wild queer that we hope to explore and convey? This workshop takes a foundational aspect of Black study that considers elaboration as a method of world-building that shares back rather than colonizes and exploits. Readings, wonderings, wanderings, and movings among and with allow us to engage [Black] study as an urgent method of dance, knowing together that Black Thought offers a mode of relation that encourages ecofeminist choreographic tomorrows.
What to expect:
A workshop that builds out from readings shared before we gather, explorations of affiliation and relationship, queer becomings and sitting with our differences as a mode of understanding how elaboration helps us move as matter. Discussion at times, moving often, making with others, wondering and expanding notions of what we think we might, and who we think we are in the perimeter of the shared study and maybe even our queered lives.
