What is harmony?
How do we hear ourselves while remaining present to each other?
How does self-attunement become communion?
What allows a group to improvise as a living, breathing organism rather than a collection of individual voices?
These questions lie at the heart of choral singing.
This workshop approaches the voice as a practice of listening. Through embodied vocal exploration, ear training, energetic awareness, spiritual embodiment, and ecstatic chanting, we will cultivate the conditions from which harmony naturally emerges.
Rather than treating creativity as something to “do”, we will explore it as the natural emanation of our essence.
Vocal practice becomes a laboratory for intentional living, where listening reveals our unique tone, and harmony arises through relationship.
Across this series of three classes we will investigate the principles of choral improvisation. No formal musical training is required. What is essential is a commitment to listening and intimacy with one’s voice.
From deep within to far outward, listening expands our awareness of vibration. From this place, our truthful tone emerges — not in isolation, but in relationship. Grounded in ancestral spiritual embodiment practices, we will explore how individual resonance contributes to collective harmony, using vocal improvisation as a playful laboratory for communication, presence, and attunement.
Together, we will move continuously between the micro and the macro: from breath to chorus, from individual frequency to shared field, discovering how harmony naturally emerges through listening.
