In Saunders latest work she has been researching performance as meditation, duration, What does it take for our bodies to be in an expressive meditative state as performance? How and when might the two states conflict and converge? What is this like to Witness? For this workshop we’ll traverse cycles of making, expressing, and witnessing- “Hot Oven Spaces” that challenge us to reconcile boredom, fatigue, injury, pain, fear- if only, for the moment of pre & per- forming. This workshop will engage some of the core principles of Saunders’ Imagining Liberation praxis, and collective story sharing.

Durational Praxis
Improvisation
Making
Embodied Meditation
Journaling
Sourcing
Being & Witnessing

What to expect:
Come prepared to move each day.
Bring a journal, ideally, replete with your entries from other sessions, making processes, notes, etc.
While all Makers are welcomed, this workshop engages Performance. Please be prepared to See and Be Seen in performance and making.
