The art of listening

From deep within to far outward, listening gives us access to vibrational awareness. From this place, one’s unique sound can be expressed and heard. I offer a workshop around the use of the voice as a revelatory and liberating music instrument. Grounded in ancestral spiritual embodiment practices, we’ll explore ways to align with one’s truthful tone, and apply our findings to the micro <> macro laboratory of harmonic singing. Drawing from breath, physics, presence and deep listening, we’ll approach the concepts of alignment and relation, as they apply to cellular, social and cosmic principles. Vocal improvisation will be a tool to explore each of our unique communication pathways with playfulness. Our study will structure around the following axes:

Body & soul: self study, self awareness, self love
The voice as a trace of one’s unique vibration & tone
Listening: tuning, expression, connection
The voice in relation: speaking & singing from one’s heart, weaving inside and out
Harmony & Improvisation: culture, identity, verticality & freedom

What to expect:
Registration to both sessions is encouraged. Bring comfortable clothes and hydration. Designed for people who are interested in connecting vocal practice with everything else.
