radio fka x (they/them) is a Crip Punk, TRANSdisciplinary, conceptual artist who works primarily in performance and installation. They hold a BA in Theatre with minors in Dance and Art History from Ithaca College. Their work has been shown at Portland State University, Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts, Cornell University’s Risley Theatre, Dixon Place, Movement Research at Judson Memorial Church, Le Petit Versailles Garden, and Abrons Arts Center through New Dance Alliance’s Performance Mix Festival 36. radio founded and led their own performance company, {amdpc}, from 2019-2021; leading movement workshops, guided meditations, and a premiere evening length production in October 2020. They are a Teaching Artist for Youth and Family programs at Mark Morris Dance Center where they teach toddlers, children, and teens.
Selected accomplishments and artistic experiences include: Advocate in Residence (New Yorkers for Culture and Arts), Artist in Residence (Center for Performance Research), Creatives Rebuild New York (Artist Employment Program), AXIS Choreo-Lab Fellow, GALLIM Moving Artist Residency, Bronx Cultural Visions Fund (Bronx Council on the Arts), City Artist Corps grant, LiftOff Residency (NDA), and Disability. Dance. Artistry. Dance. Residency Program (Dance/NYC, Gibney), Artistic Fellow (Performance Project @ University Settlement). Their first full length solo show, high functioning x.0. premiered curated in the HERE Arts Center’s Sublet: CoOp Series in 2022. When not creating art or teaching dance, radio works as a curator, panelist, and certified intimacy coordinator for TV/film, stage productions, and alternative mediums. They are currently in pursuit of their MFA in Dance at Hunter College with an expected completion by Spring 2028.
