Rachel Bernsen

Rachel Bernsen is a a dance artist, educator and nationally certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, M.AmSAT. She maintains a private practice in AT in New Haven, CT and teaches the Technique for performing artists at colleges, conferences and festivals across the US and abroad including Yale University, Texas Woman’s University, Seattle Pacific University, Albertus Magnus, CCSU, Connecticut College, and the Moscow Dance Agency Tsekh, among others. As a dance educator she has been visiting faculty at Trinity College, Wesleyan University, Miami Dade College Live Arts Lab and was on the dance faculty at the Educational Center for the Arts (ECA). As a choreographer and performer committed to interdisciplinary practice, recent projects include a duet with the experimental vocalist Kyoko Kitamura, Masters of Ceremony, an interdisciplinary improvisational collective with choreographer Melanie Maar, musicians Taylor Ho Bynum and Abraham Gomez-Delgado, a series of works with visual artist Megan Craig and multiple projects with legendary composer Anthony Braxton, including choreographer of his opera Trillium J.  / rachelbernsenAT.com
