Oda Brekke is an artist based in Stockholm working with choreography, dance and text. In her practice she often explores hybrid formats moving across performance, installation and print. Her performances have been presented at MDT (Stockholm), BIT (Bergen), Zagreb Museum of Contemporary Art and Revolve Performance Art Days (Uppsala) among others and include ‘When there’s only surface left’ (2021), ‘Cut: a choreo-essay’ (2023), ‘dead dead document’ (2024) and in collaboration with Stina Ehn ‘Soft Machines / du står utanför med en penna’ (2026). Oda is interested in discursive formats that gather us to think together in new and playful ways and has organized a series of artistic labs, study groups and conversational formats. Together with Maia Means she is producing a series of hand printed publications at Skogen Community Press (Gothenburg). Oda is a cofounder of the collective studio space höjden in Stockholm, a collegial platform and common resource for autonomous production and artistic exchange since 2019. She studied Dance Performance at DOCH/Stockholm University of the Arts (2017).
