In its 20 years, starting as an improvised performance festival, Improspekcije has become a relevant artist-led innovative framework for contemporary dance and performance. After collaborations with different venues and institutions, currently we curate a relevant presentation of contemporary performance practices within the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb as a part of the Antisezona platform. Our goals are enabling the exchange of Croatian artists of different disciplines and generations with international artists and education of artists, students and audiences in the field of contemporary tendencies in performing arts and improvisation. The current producer of the festival (since 2021), artistic organization Objekt plesa brings together collaborators with many years of experience in the field of festival production, year-round programs, artistic productions and research in the field of music, dance, visual arts and theory. Objekt plesa implements a year-round program of production and distribution, through five main activities: production of the international festival Improspekcije, co-production of Antisezone – a collaborative project (with Kik Melone and Divert) of curating performance at the Museum of Contemporary Art, production and distribution of artistic works, development of archiving projects and participation in regional and international networks. All our activities are instigated from an interest in body, dance and performance moving towards intermedial, collaborative and social; as well as towards feminist, inclusive and horizontal models of curation and project management with the aim of developing a sustainable and stable ecosystems of work in art.
