Marina Santo (Rio de Janeiro, 1978) has been dancing all her life. For the past 17 years, she has professionally worked with dance, collaborating with arts organisations, companies and performing and audiovisual artists.

She has been working for the last 14 years producing dance and community based artistic projects to bring body awareness and contemporary dance to real people with diverse profiles (women, teachers, youth, diaspora, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ etc). She regularly carries out workshops and classes and has collaborated with more than 35 institutions in Spain and abroad.

Marina was one of the selected artists from 168 proposals to develop her own project Más allá de la piel through Fundación la Caixa`s “Art for Change “. The piece, created and directed by her, was presented in several theatres throughout Spain in 2023.

Her work is inspired and is based in movement research to awaken the embodied anatomy and enhance the uniqueness of each person, she actively reflects on the expansion of contemporary language to communities that have not had access to this practice. She is an active student of Body Mind Centering (Bonnie Cohen) and Asymmetrical Motion (Lucas Condró).

She is a mother and a fervent lover of Brazilian music.
