Mariah, a recent Fulbright U.S. Scholar in Ireland at The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick is a dance artist, improvisor, choreographer and recent filmmaker. Today, she enjoys serving the company as a guest artist and faculty member as well as inside re-staging projects. Mariah loves discovering and cultivating pleasure and ease within her movement practices where she draws from her research and experience dancing with Trisha Brown; and within her practices of Improvisation, Body-Mind Centering, Alexander Technique, Qigong, Contact Improvisation, Skinner Releasing and interdisciplinary collaborations. Mariah’s current research explores the intersectionality of Irish Traditional music and live music culture in dialogue with postmodern improvisation practices.
