Maia is a Brooklyn-based dance artist and administrator. Her interests lie in crafting live experiences and public art events that reimagine everyday spaces and affirm the importance of rest and joy in our daily lives. As a kid, she’d often dig up worms in her backyard to watch how they moved without bones. Since then, she’s continued researching the strange ways that bodies tell stories. Maia is a graduate of Middlebury College, where she received awards for her dance research and performance works. She honed her training with teachers Lida Winfield, Laurel Jenkins, Karima Borni, Christal Brown, and Meshi Chavez, among others.
