- kyoko takenaka (jinjabrew) is a multi-disciplinary performance artist, butoh dancer, actor, musician, filmmaker, and movement facilitator based between Lenape land, Tongva land, Tokyo, and London. Their name Kyoko means “vibrations of sound child” in Japanese. Kyoko presents new spacious realms of embodiment in theatre by weaving butoh, improvisational music, acting, theatre and video art in their multi-media performances. Their work is often centered around the exploration between their Asian and Asian American identity.
