Kay Takeda has worked for over 20 years to support and advance artists and the arts sector. She is currently the Director of Grants & Services at Lower Manhattan Cultural Council where she designs its grantmaking and professional development programs and community initiatives. Prior to joining LMCC, she managed grantmaking programs for Arts International and exhibition, residency and studio programs at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, Snug Harbor; and has served on the boards of the artist-run Goliath Visual Space and Tickle the Sleeping Giant, Inc./Trajal Harrell. She lectures widely on professional issues affecting artists.
