Jimena Paz was born in Buenos Aires, and has lived and worked in Argentina, United States and Europe. Throughout her work she continues to explore experiences and questions of foreignness, otherness, interculturalism, inter-being, migration, the fictional and the sensorial aspects of the multiple relationships that exist between body-soul-land-environment-cultures. Most recently she collaborated with the interdisciplinary artist, Ralph Lemon, in the work In Proximity (2025) at PS1 MoMA; and performed in Including You (2025) by Vicky Sick. She also collaborated with David Haart on the video installation Metabolic Drift at the Georg Kolbe Museum in Berlin. Her solo iridescent (2021) was presented by Richard Colton at “Movement without Borders” and selected as NYTimes Best of Dance 2021. Other works include Yellow, a co-creation with American artists choreographers, Vicky Shick and Ralph Lemon, presented at the Chocolate Factory in 2017. She is currently studying cultural biology, the work of Humberto Maturana and Ximena Dávila-Yañez, a study, reflection and conversation about Culture/s with people from different regions in the Southern Hemisphere of Latin America. A Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner since 2006, Jimena has a private practice and is currently on faculty at Movement Research and Eugene Lang College at the New School. She developed a somatics curriculum for dancers during her time as an Associate Professor at UArts. She has had the pleasure to work with Lance Gries, Vicky Shick, Susan Rethorst, the Stephen Petronio Company, Juliette Mapp, Constanza Macras (Germany), Iris Scaccheri (Argentina), Martha Clake, Liz Gerring, Antonio Ramos, Todd Williams, David Haart, Burt Barr, Sabrina Farji (Spain-Argentina), Virginie Yassef (France). Jimena Paz nació y creció en Buenos Aires y ha trabajado en Argentina, Estados Unidos y Europa. A lo largo de su obra continúa explorando experiencias de alteridad, interculturalidad, migración, la condición de ser un otro y lo ficcional y lo sensorial de las múltiples relaciones que existen entre cuerpo-alma-tierra-nicho-culturas. Recientemente colaboró con el artista Ralph Lemon para la obra In Proximity (2025) en PS1 MoMa y con Vicky Schick, Including You (2025) y David Haart, Metabolic Drift (2025). Su solo, iridiscente (2021), fue presentado en “Movement Without Borders” bajo la curaduría de Richard Colton y seleccionado como NYTimes Best of Dance 2021, también presentado en Buenos Aires en la conferencia “Cartografías de Movimiento” del DSA. Otros trabajos incluyen Yellow, una creación conjunta con los artistas y coreógrafos estadounidenses Vicky Shick y Ralph Lemon, presentada en el teatro Chocolate Factory en 2017. Actualmente estudia biología cultural, la obra de Humberto Maturana y Ximena Dávila-Yañez, y disfruta de la reflexión y conversación sobre cultura/s con personas de diferentes regiones del Hemisferio Sur de América Latina. También ha tenido el placer de trabajar con David Haart, Lance Gries, Vicky Shick, Susan Rethorst, Stephen Petronio Company (’99–’06), Juliette Mapp, Constanza Macras (Alemania), Iris Scaccheri (Argentina), Martha Clake, Liz Gerring , Antonio Ramos, Todd Williams, Burt Barr, David Haart, Sabrina Farji (España-Argentina), Virginie Yassef (Francia). Como practicante certificada del método Feldenkrais, Jimena formó parte del cuerpo docente de la Universidad de las Artes en Filadelfia, donde creó un currículum en el área de movimiento somático y actualmente enseña en Movement Research, el Eugene Lang College at The New School, en Nueva York y en su práctica independiente.
