Jen Harmon is a movement-based artist and educator. For the past 25 years she has explored a pathway to presence through contemporary performance. She has worked as a choreographer, dance improviser, actor, writer and interdisciplinary artist. She was the Director of Acting and Choreography for the experience design group, Odyssey Works where she collaborated in creating audience specific, immersive, and long duration projects in New York from 2010-2015. Jen recently choreographed for Miranda Theatres Off-Broadway production, They Promised Her the Moon. Nancy Topf was Jen’s primary teacher and her technique is the foundation of her dance practice. She was a consulting editor and contributor to Contact Quarterly’s chapbook #3 on Nancy Topf. Jen has also been influenced by the study of ideokinesis with Andre Bernard and Native American clowning techniques with Sue Morrison as well as a long-time practice of Vipassana Meditation.
