Babou Sanneh is a first-generation Gambian-American dance performance artist, creative, and model from the Bronx, New York. He is currently performing in Punchdrunk’s immersive theater production Sleep No More, dancing at the Metropolitan Opera, and modeling/commercial dancing with MSA. Sanneh’s dynamic talent has been showcased on both stage and screen, where he has performed works by renowned choreographers such as Martha Graham, Bill T. Jones, Johannes Weiland, Camille A. Brown, Victor Quijada, Linda Celeste Sims, and Glenn Allen Sims.

His performance credits include appearances with Lyric Opera Chicago and the Afrofuturistic arts collective, Tribe. Beyond the stage, his screen presence has been seen in HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness and the world premiere of Doppelgänger at the Park Avenue Armory. Sanneh has also been featured in high-profile campaigns for brands like Telfar and Burberry.

A graduate of the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, where he was awarded the Adopt-A-Dancer Scholarship, Sanneh is committed to artistic excellence and passionate storytelling through movement. As the founder of RareBreed Productions and a 2024 Pepetain Bronx Arts Collaborative Residency recipient, he continues to pursue his artistic vision. Additionally, he served as an assistant choreographer to Maleek Washington for his work XXXCaliber at Broadway Bares.
