Yoshiko Chuma: Refugee and Immigrant Artist Fund

As an extension of the artists’ work seen across Movement Research public programs, including Movement Research at the Judson Church and Studies Project, as well as exchanges initiated by the Movement Research Exchange (MRX) program, Yoshiko has introduced a fund in direct support of refugee and immigrant dance-makers. This fund will engage contributions towards outreach, artist fees, and resources for artists traveling to NYC to participate in Movement Research programs, as well as those who are currently based in NYC but have immigrated or are currently seeking refuge from their home country.

Dona Ann McAdams: Dance Makers in the Schools Fund

This new fund will directly support Movement Research’s Dance Makers in the Schools program, a deep collaboration between MR teaching artists and NYC public schools that works directly with classroom teachers to integrate movement, dance, and the creative process into their curriculum. The funds will continue to strengthen the relationship between Movement Research and its 11 partner schools; provide support towards teaching artist fees for 15 artists/year; as well as sustain opportunities for professional development for both classroom teachers and teaching artists alike.

Lori E. Seid: Production Fund

Funds donated in the name of Lori E. Seid will go to the Production Fund for Movement Research at the Judson Church and the biannual Festivals. Support will be directed towards production-related fees, including personnel and equipment rental, ensuring the work of exciting and innovative movement-based artists will benefit from continued platforms for in-process performance.

Join us at Gala 2018, where we will hold a Live Ask, including original prints from honoree Dona Ann McAdams, and hosted by Lead Chairs Lucy Sexton and Carmelita Tropicana!
