A free, high visibility low-tech forum for experimentation, emerging ideas, and works-in-progress held in the Fall and Spring seasons. Artists are selected by a rotating committee of peer artists, and join Movement Research Artists-In-Residence and international guests each season in performing at the historic Judson Church.

The accessible entrance is located at 243 Thompson St. and the elevator at Judson Church is currently working. Personnel from the Judson Church will be at the entrance. The elevator connects Level 1 (street access) to Level 3 (Meeting Room where performances take place) and Level B or basement (where restrooms are located).

Allie Hankins is a dancer, choreographer, and sound artist who has been producing and performing experimental works in Portland since 2013. Her work centers on deconstruction and the destabilization of persona through uncanny physicality, labyrinthine logic, and a razor-sharp wit.

Stanley Love Performance Group

Stanley Love, an experimental choreographer who built a loyal following for creating dances instilled with joy, vibrant physicality and his wild imagination, died in August 2019. He founded the Stanley Love Performance Group in 1992 after graduating from Juilliard, and created numerous works that embraced spectacle and pop music, dance history and social dancing.

Maira Duarte/Dance to the People​

Maira Duarte is a Mexican artist, educator, and organizer based in New York City. She directs Dance to the People/Danza para la Gente (DTTP), a collective dedicated to using art as a form of activism and social change, operating in New York and Mexico. DTTP has received support from the Action Lab, CUNY Dance Initiative, Queens Council on the Arts, and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts.
