The Studies Project: Borderless Artist Long Table on Censorship, organized by UNDOXX, will include short presentations by advocates working to mitigate censorship in the arts and a long table discussion open to all attendees.

The long table will offer space for artists to share experiences with censorship and enable community members to trade tools and tactics to continue making art amidst censorship. The Long Table is a style of conversation developed by NYC queer feminist performance artists Lois Weaver and Peggy Shaw. This happening will build on UNDOXX’s first series of events where we learned that there is hunger for collaboration among values-aligned artists in visual arts, performing arts, and film.

Since 2024, UNDOXX remains committed to community power building and broadening resource-sharing for artists facing censorship. We invite artists to tap into past UNDOXX learnings. Our fall 2024 programming featured artists and activists from the U.S., Mexico, Palestine, and the U.K. These events ranged from performances, film screenings, teach-ins, dance workshops, new media exhibits, to resource-sharing gatherings over the course of three weeks at JACK in Brooklyn, NY. UNDOXX connected many artists navigating censorship, with attendees asking for another iteration.

UNDOXX extends thanks to the Community Engagement Fund for their support of our work and this event
