This workshop considers dance making not as a craft that can be taught but as a practice in which we can share our collective resources, perceptions and knowledge in order to further clarify our individual passions and concerns. Through a series of structured exercises, showings and conversations we’ll engage in a dialogue around issues of ownership, aesthetic preference, preconceived concepts of form, commitment, risk and vulnerability. We will examine our own intentions in making, and how and if they manifest in the work itself. Please bring a notebook and a short piece of movement material as a starting point.
