The #WeFree | #UnleashYourDuende Collaboration with Marguerite "RITA" Hemmings and Arielle Rosales is a creative process inspired by the movement of the Diaspora and the sounds of New York City. As an extension of their most recent series, this workshop is an improv-based call & response experience open to all. We will explore and experiment with specific rhythms and movement phrases, alongside their social contexts, within the African Diaspora. Come ready to contribute to a communal creative process to explore what liberation feels like through sound & movement!

"The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your existence is an act of rebellion."
– Albert Camus

What is created in this workshop will be shared at Movement Research at the Judson Church on March 6, 2017.

Please note the change of date! Previously "Experimental Dancehall," this workshop is now March 2-4.
