In this workshop we will engage evolving definitions of choreography, influenced by the current cultural backdrop of interdisciplinarity in contemporary art. Harnessing the nuance and complexity of gender neutrality and race relations in our world right now we will generate new processes for making dance and performance. We will question the choreographic “default settings” of dance history and present-day tropes, re-contextualizing these through the dual lenses of personal research and contemporary culture. This workshop should be a launching pad for new investigations in your work, processed through the knowledge of intuition.
