Class begins with a welcoming check in/hellos, creating a space where we can all connect before diving into the work. We’ll start with a thorough warm-up that brings attention and awareness to the organs, skeletal, and muscular body. From there, we’ll transition into dancing, a combination of set movement phrases and improvisational material, concentrating on articulate sequences, musicality, nuance, gesture, floor material, jumping, organic and unusual co-ordinations, and idiosyncrasies. The goal is to achieve a clean, straightforward approach to dancing that is precise, individual, and deeply expressive.
