A woman wearing a black sweatshirt and black shorts faces away from the camera holding her right arm up towards the ceiling in a gesture designed to inspire a lifting action. Six people lay on tan mats on their back with a blue ball resting underneath their hips. They hold their bent right knee firmly with both hands as their left leg is long and straight reaching towards the ceiling with a flexed foot. They are in a Pilates studio with brown wood floor and white walls. A photo by Aline Pilates.

Pilates for Movers draws from classical Pilates modalities with offerings of contemporary variations or modifications. We will explore functionality, effort, breath, and flow. An emphasis on active choice, full embodiment, and stability through challenge. This class is appropriate for movers of all ages and Pilates experiences, those who want to establish a deeper mind body connection, and people in search of low impact exercise. This mat class is accompanied by various props utilized both to challenge and support our bodies through movement.

Mats and props are available to borrow, but please feel free to bring your own!
