Please Note: Jessica Winograd will teach class on Friday May 10th.

In Klein Technique™/Movement classes we work at the level of the bone- the simplest, deepest and densest tissue in the body, and this tissue conducts the most energy through the body. We work with its clarity, utilize it’s inherent directionality.

We work with the principles of stretch and placement at the barre, on the floor, and in short movement combinations that travel or remain in place. We encourage the body to integrate the small, subtle articulations and connections. We focus on the deep connections of support through the skeleton, freeing the legs and the spine, connecting the pelvis to the legs, the upper body to the lower body, the feet to the ground and the skull to the feet.

In daily class we address these principles in layers, building our foundation, interweaving theory and practice. We connect to the earth through our feet and legs, enabling us to stride out into our lives with purpose and confidence.

Although this class works best for those familiar with Klein Technique™, continuing the process of embodiment, it is open to all. Some dance experience is helpful.

Based on the sequences and work of Susan Klein and Colette Barry, it has been further developed and investigated by Susan Klein, and then Barbara Mahler – the first certified Klein Technique™ teacher in 1988.

Please note: Class on March 15th is canceled.
