Movement Research offers two programs providing ongoing opportunities for artists to show works in progress: Movement Research at the Judson Church and Open Performance. If there are showing opportunities or open calls in conjunction with the Movement Research Festival, or any other performance opportunities available, we will announce the information here.
A high visibility, low-tech forum on Monday nights throughout the fall and spring seasons. Movement Research at the Judson Church supports experiments in performance rather than finished products. Artists are selected by a rotating peer panel of artists.
A program of non-curated shared showings of experimentation and work-in-progress, for artists at all stages of their development. The events are centered around an audience discussion moderated by a Movement Research Artist-in-Residence or an occasional guest, where we will experiment with different feedback methods to support and inform the artists’ process.
Currently we are not accepting proposals for the Movement Research Festival. Any open calls or requests for proposals will be announced here. There are no concrete guidelines or deadlines, as the festival changes every year.
