This workshop is an opportunity to center ourselves and reawaken our innate capacity for connection with what is going on inside and around us.
Ecosomatics is a dynamic approach to living and learning which engages us through embodied practice into deeper relation with the world in which we live.
Together we will practice living, breathing, moving, sensing, perceiving, digesting, dying, and decomposing to help us perceive more of the whole scale of the sensitivities and intelligences within us, the human and non-human, the transforming spaces, the before and after. Together, we will listen, improvise, play, experiment, grieve, dwell in the unknown, and trust the deep resources of our bodies to navigate challenge, find joy, sustain ourselves, and thrive.
Through somatic practice, biology and ecology stop being abstract and start to live in our bodies. We’ll build bridges between concept and felt experience, opening up new ways of being, feeling, understanding, and thinking, and with them, new ways of relating to, acting within, and valuing the more-than-human world.
What to expect:
We will work with tools from Body-Mind Centering®, dance and improvisation. This workshop is for anyone and everybody interested in movement, our ecological bodies and consciousness regardless of experience or ability.
