Ruby Cullen is an interdisciplinary artist from Houston, TX, currently pursuing a BA from Wesleyan University with a double major in Dance and English Creative Writing. Her dance practice, instruction and choreography is heavily based in fusion styles, blending her upbringing in the contemporary/modern world with her experience in hip hop, ballet, and heels technique. Her decade of training in aerial dance (specializing in silks and trapeze) continually informs her relationship to performance and strength. She loves to write fiction & creative non-fiction and is currently preparing for her dual dance & creative writing thesis exploring pain, time, and text-based performance.
