Claire Fleury aka Curious Orange is a director, designer, poet and performer with 25 years of experience in the performing arts. They create fashion performances that include dance, live music, and spoken word. These collaborative performances, which are CO’s alternative to fashion shows, aim to show clothing and dressing as an act of resistance and protest as well as a personal statement on how they perceive the world. Their vibrant costumes are designed to evoke joy, while also highlighting CURIOUS’s deep respect for the power of the body in motion. They are committed to a sustainable practice, creating designs from surprising materials; often found, existing shapes like socks, tote bags or contact lens containers. They are constantly looking for new and playful, sustainable ways to approach clothing design, ultimately creating a lifelong homage to the sheer act of dressing up.
