ID: a digital photo that has a datamosh quality to it. The face of Laurel is featured mostly in shades of green, and the pixels seem to jam and striate up against one another as if the photo has been chiseled into the side of a mountain. Her arms appear at the bottom of the photo, the aspect of the image that can been seen as "correct". Laurel is looking at you. She prevails. Photo by Whitney Browne

This open-level qi gong class will delve into the foundational techniques of this somatic practice as well as philosophical details of five element theory as an offering to integrate into your personal philosophy of movement and the body. We will look towards and work with the connection between the seasons, body systems, senses, nature, our imaginations, and more as ways to locate ourselves and begin to tap into the interconnectivity between the self and the universe. A morning practice to meet the day as a whole body.

What to expect:
Working with the breath
Being still
Moving in and out of the floor (class can go from standing to lying down)
Being in contemplation/reflection while in a physical state/stance/form
Endurance practice
Moving between experiential and technical practicing
Self-motivated (this class is open-level so knowing when you need to slow something down, go longer, rest, etc and not looking for permission to tend to the self)
The unknown as a guide.
