Feldenkrais Method®: Awareness Through Movement®
The Feldenkrais Method® utilizes a process of organic learning to bring habitual patterns to the realm of consciousness to improve sense of self and self-use. This Awareness Through Movement® class is designed to improve pre-existing movement patterns and to introduce new movement possibilities unexplored thus far. The students are invited to explore movement sequences in a judgement free atmosphere where curiosity and playfulness are encouraged. By cultivating a state of full presence, you will ultimately experience yourself as a whole, in fully integrated motion where there is no dissonance.
What to expect:
Awareness Through Movement® classes take place in a quiet, comfortable space where you will be lying on a mat and follow gentle, guided movements through verbal instruction. You are encourage to wear comfortable clothes, move slowly, rest often, and focus on sensing and exploring how you move—without mirrors, music, or pressure to perform.
