Morning dance class that will start with functional mobility and pilates based exercises mixed with sensorial, somatic awareness to get connected, strong and open from the ground up. This class functions as a ritual for creating a deeper relationship to our bodies and a practice of “growing” our bodies organically from the process of tending to its needs for more strength, mobility, ability and connection between all its parts, the ground and space. There will be some learning of movement phrases and/or practicing achugar’s own “Pleasure Practice”.

What to expect:
This class is open to all levels of dance training and it is open to non-dancers as well.

We will start on the floor and alternate between somatic awareness and nervous system regulation exercises; then we will move on to stability, mobility and strength building exercises influenced by achugar’s training in Pilates, functional mobiity, Yoga and contemporary post-modern dance practices; we will then move on to learning movement phrases and improvising using achugar’s own “pleasure practice”.
