marion spencer (she/her/hers) is a Bessie-nominated interdisciplinary dance artist living in Lenapehoking/Brooklyn.​ Through a weaving of artistic mediums including movement, sound and installation, marion’s work creates poetic ecosystems within which to wonder, feel & dream, excavating the personal, the systemic, the unknown, the wild, the experimental, the cellular and the beautiful. Her work has been presented in NYC by Roulette Intermedium, Center for Performance Research, New Dance Alliance, The Chocolate Factory Theater, Gibney, Danspace Project, Brooklyn Studios for Dance, Movement Research at Judson Church, Triskelion Arts, Green Space, Dance Now NYC, Dance HOLO and the Domestic Performance Agency. She has been an Artist in Residence at The Field Center, New Dance Alliance, Gibney, The Chocolate Factory Theater, Amherst College & Mana Contemporary, among others. marion has toured her choreographic work and teaching practice nationally to Seattle WA, Catskill NY, Amherst MA and to her former home- New Orleans LA. In addition to choreographing, performing and teaching dance, marion teaches Pilates and is a Craniosacral Therapist. She currently is a graduate student at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, pursuing her MFA in Dance: Interdisciplinary Research.
