Nicole Soto Rodríguez is a movement and visual artist born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Cultural Anthropology from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and a Master’s Degree in Puerto Rican and Caribbean Studies from the Center for Advanced Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Formally trained in Classical Ballet, Modern, and Contemporary Dance, Nicole expanded her movement work by incorporating video, and site-specific installations into her practice. Currently, her artistic work focuses on the exploration and the possibilities of memory, space, movement, and video. In 2020, her work Abandonment Series, became part of the Film and Video Collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art. Her work has also been presented in Puerto Rico, Colombia, Spain, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. As a social researcher, Nicole
