Yining Chi (she/they) is a mover, curator, and researcher from Beijing, China, currently based in New York City. Her work is centered on the body in e-motion, the collective emotional state within social constructs. With a focus on disability theory, queer theory, and affect theory, she is in the process of deconstructing power through the sensory body and the politics of care. Chi is pursuing an MA in Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. Her recent projects include the public performance art series Urban Stage (Guangzhou, 2023) and the independent curatorial project The Intimate Revolt (Goethe-Institut China, Beijing, 2022).

Chi is in motion, dancing with one arm raised and the other in front, her eyes closed as she immerses herself in the movement. In the background is a dance studio. She has shoulder-length black hair and is wearing a brown long-sleeve top and matching brown pants.
