Marilyn Maywald-Yahel is a New York City-based dancer and Feldenkrais® teacher originally from Nashville, TN. She has collaborated and performed with Maggie Bennett, Beth Gill, Melanie Maar, Yin Mei, Steven Reker, Melinda Ring, Vicky Shick, Katie Workum, and in her own short form solos and improvisations. She is a graduate of the 8th New York Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program under the direction of David Zemach-Bersin, Sheryl Field, and Anastasi Siotas, the Kane School of Core Integration (Pilates Certification), and Arizona State University. Her teaching is influenced by her years of study and participation inside of downtown dance, intensive process-based qi gong study with Melanie Maar & Yin Mei, learning ballet as an adult under Janet Panetta, comprehensive coursework in biomechanics & anatomy with Irene Dowd, fifteen years as a one-on-one Pilates instructor, and the shape-shifting flexibility required of being a parent. She lives with her family up the Hudson River in Putnam Valley, NY. In 2024 she has been a teaching artist through the Florida State University Arts in NYC program, a preschool yoga instructor, and a Feldenkrais® teacher to folks in all walks of life.
