Narelle Zhao (they/them) is an emerging contemporary artist working across a spectrum of disciplines, including performance, metalwork, sculpture, video, photography, and drawing. Born and raised in Shanghai, Narelle holds a B.S. in Philosophy and Art from Skidmore College and is currently based in New York City. Their multidisciplinary practice fosters an intricate and intimate relationship with materials, where gestures of cutting, collating, and layering shapes reflect their exploration of a fluid sense of belonging, oral histories, and the reimagining of identities that transcend time and space. They are excited to work with artists and art managers in movement research!
