In these classes we will tune our embodied, perceptual awareness to spontaneous dancing/improvisation. We’ll ignite and support our movement and stillnesses using various kinds of music and sound, imagery, and an appreciation of the open spaces inside and around us. Through our practice together, we can cultivate letting go of unnecessary tension(s) and allow for new movement possibilities to arise.
What to expect:
This is an improvisational class for all – those with dance training and those not having participated in formal instruction.
- This class is largely based in Skinner Releasing Technique™ but there may be other elements involved.
- It involves quiet time on the floor as well as being up and moving;
- participants can decide what level of energy they would like to use throughout class (from a lot to a little).
Accessibility Notes
- This class includes auditive guidance.
- Automated closed captioning will be available for all Zoom classes.
