Based on Levi’s current artistic project that proposes allowing dances to emerge rather than grimly forcing them into existence, this class will be a practice in group listening and emergent strategies (thank you adrienne maree brown!). Each class will begin with a particular guided/facilitated approach to engaging with our bodies’ sensorium and physicality, typically including somatic exercises, improvisation, movement forms that integrate muscular/nervous/organ systems, and some vocal work. From there, we will explore what dance might collectively emerge from each unique gathering of humans.

What to Expect:
This work asks for an engagement with improvisation, risk, committed presence, being in relation to others, and doing the work of establishing your own boundaries.

Open to any levels of experience with an expectation that participants will take the work and themselves seriously (sense of humor also welcome).
