Nina Jakobson (she/they) is a queer multidisciplinary performer, deviser, and director from New York City. A recent graduate of Wesleyan University with a BA in Theater and Psychology, they were awarded honors for their thesis on somatics, performance, and the social body. Drawing from their experiences with improvisation, buddhism, physical theater, and queer community, Nina is interested in the ways bodies link between the personal and the political. A certified yoga instructor, she looks to embody resistance and generate creative work through authentic connection, rigorous play, deep listening, and experiential learning. Nina has had the great pleasure of studying and performing works in collaboration with Katie Pearl, Hari Krishnan, and Joya Powell (presented at the School for Contemporary Dance and Thought).
