Clae Lu (吕皎) they/them is a queer, second generation Shanghainese American from Queens, NY (unceded territory of the Lenni-Lenape). They identify as an artist, designer, cultural worker, and 古筝 (guzheng) musician. Kim Savarino (she/her) is an artist working in film, theater, and dance. She is based on the traditional, unceded lands of the Canarsie and Lenni-Lenape peoples (Brooklyn, NY) and is fifth generation Chinese American.
Clae Lu and Kim Savarino met through the W.O.W. Project, a women, queer, and trans-led community initiative using art and activism to grow and protect NYC Chinatown’s creative culture in a time of rapid change. Clae and Kim have previously performed together as part of Toshi Reagon’s Sacred Revolution residency at Symphony Space in 2022. They will be sharing a meditation based in movement, sound, breath, and mourning.
