Through a variety of channels I will try to clarify and look at a key principle, viewpoint, and dance practice that is a foundation for many of the changes we have seen in dance since the Judson Church Dance Theater days. The video includes a look at live performance material from 1972 to the present featuring work by myself, Daniel Lepkoff, Lisa Nelson, Steve Paxton, Saira Blanche Theater (Moscow), and Lux Flux (Vienna) among others. These are presented as just a few examples of a way of composing and constructing dances, that considers movement as a physical dialogue.
