Photographers Dona Ann McAdams, Anja Hitzenberger, and Miana Jun gather to discuss photography and the Movement Research Performance Journal. They will address their own publishing histories with the journal, the role of photography in the context of the journal’s mission and presentation, and the possibilities that the journal presents in a world with increasingly fewer print publications.

Stage # 1 of The Bureau’s challenge to make Contemporary Dance and Choreography Flowcharts. Come out to Movement Research’s Spring Festival at The Center at West Park (165 West 86th Street NYC). Partake in live-action timeline-ing and flow-chatting! Drop-in at any point. It’s free. DOIN’ IT (3pm – 6pm) Draw flowcharts and diagrams Add to a decade-to-decade timeline 1960 – 2020 Silkscreen tee shirts with Venn diagrams Rearrange a wall of historical signage and categorizations Feel the rhythm of history while you rock out to DJ Historical Accumulation DISCUSSIN’ IT (6pm – 7pm) Presentations and discussions with four sassy thinkers: Thomas DeFrantz & Shireen Dickson Biba Bell Constanze Schellow And in case you think it’s too late, there’s still time to submit a flowchart. What might a flowchart for contemporary dance look like? Where and when does your flowchart for contemporary dance start? Where does it end? What are your ideologies and how do you name them? What are your histories and how do you write them--especially those that have not been formally written?
