Tori Lawrence

Tori Lawrence creates immersive site-specific dances, multimedia performance installations, and dance films. Her work has been presented nationally and internationally, including three site-specific project commissions by the Barnes Foundation. She has been awarded artist residencies at Middlebury College (2019-20), PLAYA, Djerassi, Brunakra/Sweden, Charlotte Street Foundation, Lawrence Arts Center, and Budapest's Workshop Foundation. Presenters include: Philadelphia Dance Projects, Stockholm Screendance Festival, Screendance Africa, Portland Maine Film Festival, Dock11/Berlin, Legion Arts, Albrecht-Kemper Museum, Mulvane Art Museum, amongst others. She was recently on faculty at the University of Kansas, where she taught choreography, and will be the guest choreographer at Franklin & Marshall College for Fall 2018. She received her MFA in Choreography from the University of Iowa, where she was a recipient of the Iowa Arts Fellowship.
