Susan Klein

Susan Klein has been developing and teaching Klein Technique™ since 1972, teaching on-going classes and intensive workshops at her studio in New York City. Klein Technique™ was developed as a result of Susan’s personal journey to get well and heal herself from a serious and devastating knee injury. Over these past 44 years, Klein Technique™ has served as a way for thousands of dancers to work through their individual injuries, to understand and improve the functioning of their own bodies, to heal themselves, and to become better dancers and artists. Susan’s main influences, in developing her work, have been Irmgard Bartenieff, Dr. Fritz Smith, MD and Professor J. R. Worsley, D. Ac. In addition to classes at the Susan Klein School for Movement and Dance in New York City, Susan has taught workshops along the East and West Coasts of the USA, in Scandinavia, particularly at the School of Contemporary Dance in Copenhagen, Denmark where she was integral in developing the School, at The Place in London, UK, at the Institut del Theatre and La Caldera in Barcelona, Spain and most consistently, during the past twelve years, with Sasha Waltz and Guests in Berlin, Germany.  Susan has a private practice as a Movement Therapist, Certified Zero Balancer, Senior Zero Balancing Faculty Member, and Traditional Worsley Style Five Element Acupuncturist, L.Ac., B.Ac.(UK), M.Ac.(USA), Dipl.Ac.(NCCAOM).
