Steinunn Ketilsdóttir is an Icelandic choreographer. She holds a BA in Dance from Hunter College from 2005 and recently finished her MA in Performance Studies at Tisch School of the Arts NYU. She works independently creating solo performances and group works that have been presented in Iceland, and in NY by Movement Research at the Judson Church and Dixon Place. Since 2007 she has collaborated with Brian Gerke and together they created works they performed across Europe and in the US. Steinunn also collaborates with Icelandic choreographer Sveinbjörg Þórhallsdóttir with whom she shares a deep interest in feminist matters. She is currently focusing on her ongoing solo project OVERSTATEMENT/OVERSTEINUNN: Expressions of Expectations alongside other group projects and collaborative projects.
