Ms. Mora-Amina Parker was born in St. Louis Missouri, and raised in San Francisco, California. A child athlete, she began to train as a dancer when she was 15 years-old at the San Francisco Highschool of the Arts. Upon graduation Ms. Parker was a newly minted member of the Savage Jazz Dance Company in Oakland, California. She then went on to work with Robert Moses’ Kin, Philadanco II, Dallas Black Dance Theater, Jeanne Ruddy, Reflections Dance Company, Philadanco, and was a founding member of Camille A. Brown and Dancers. In 2014, as a member of Camille A. Brown and Dancers the company was awarded a Bessie—New York Dance and Performance Award for outstanding production for Mr. Tol E. RanCE. In addition to performing in this project, Ms. Parker was also a collaborator on this two-year project. Currently Ms. Parker is diligently working on a Performance and Performance studies MFA at the Pratt Institute, upon her graduation she looks to premier her first solo work in the fall of 2019.
